Leyland Lion PLSC3 The Leyland Lion first appeared in 1925, in the form of the PLSC1, which had a 5.1 litre petrol engine, and was available with front, rear or dual entrance/exit bodies, seating around 31 passengers. One of the first undertakings to buy this model was Edinburgh Corporation, who bought 8, numbered 505-11 in their fleet. These had dual doors. Late in 1926 a slightly larger version, the PLSC3 was introduced, with seating for a possible 35 passengers. The model reigned supreme until 1929, when its by now rather dated appearance was replaced by the Lion LT1, which had a four cylinder T type petrol engine. Many PLSC1 and 3 models have been preserved and can still be seen today. Some of the preserved vehicles are the subject of models in this series. After their passenger carrying service was over, some PLSCs saw further use as departmental vehicles, as the subject of this model, based on a Bradford prototype.
