1941 Mobile Canteen
Blackpool’s six Leyland Lion Runabouts, 114-119, introduced in 1935, are the subject of another model in this series.
During the second World War, the runabouts were laid up, so it was decided to convert No.118 for use as a Civil Defence Mobile Canteen. This model depicts the vehicle in this guise. It was unfortunately never returned to passenger service after the war, and was sold off for use as a snack bar.
