1898 CROSSBENCH CAR (ORIGINAL LIVERY) The Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramroad began operation in 1898, using 10 open sided bogie tramcars ) numbered 1 to 10) built by G.F. Milnes of Birkenhead, and known as “Crossbenches” or “Racks”. In 1920 the Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramroad was taken over by Blackpool Corporation and the cars were renumbered 126 to 135 consecutively, and carried Blackpool red and white Livery. Crossbench No. 2 is currently in it's original brown and cream livery and can be seen at the National Tramway Museum at Crich, Derbyshire. This kit can be made up as No. 1 or No. 2. |
